Infrastructure for process scaling

Anyone who wants to develop or test bio-based processes is often faced with the same question: Where can I find the right system to scale up my process - from laboratory to pilot to demonstration scale?

This is precisely where the TransBIB database for scaling infrastructure comes in.
For the first time, it offers a federal overview of test, pilot and demonstration facilities for the industrial bioeconomy - with clear filter functions, a location map and direct contacts.

Around 60 facilities have already made their data available.
All entries contain information on capacities, application options and access conditions.

The database therefore offers several advantages:

  • Quick orientation: You can see at a glance where suitable scaling infrastructures are available in Germany.

  • Efficient networking: Contact information facilitates direct dialogue with operators.

  • Transparency & comparability: Filters according to process stages, technologies or sectors help to find the right infrastructure.

  • Practical relevance: The database maps real application options - from research to production.

For companies and research institutions, the database is a decisive accelerator:
It shortens the time between laboratory idea and industrial realisation, reduces search effort and hurdles for cooperation.

The Database scaling infrastructure is part of the TransBIB One-Stop-Shop (OSS) and is available to registered users after login.

Distribution of scaling offers in Germany

The survey results to date on scaling infrastructures show a strong supply of systems (parts) in NRW and central Germany. In the north and south, there are only a few offers so far.

Provider of scaling infrastructure

Half of the infrastructure on offer comes from SMEs and industry. A quarter each is offered by universities and research institutions.
